Angkor Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2026

The Angkor Mathematics Competition (AMC) is one of Cambodia’s largest and most inclusive mathematics competitions, open to students from Grades 1 to 12. Organised annually by Bright Education, AMC aims to promote mathematical excellence, critical thinking, and international collaboration.

The competition is divided into six grade-level categories and consists of three rounds conducted from October to December 2026. Following the success of AMC 2025, which drew participation from students in over 10 countries, we are excited to welcome even more international schools and young math talent to this year’s edition.

AMC 2026 Schedule:

  • Round 1 (Online): October, 2026

  • Round 2 (Online): November, 2026

  • Global Round (Onsite): January, 2027

  • Location: Institute of Technology of Cambodia (Phnom Penh)

  • Awarding Ceremony: January, 2027

  • Category 1: Grades 1–2 (Direct entry to Global Round – no need for online rounds)

  • Category 2: Grades 3–4

  • Category 3: Grades 5–6

  • Category 4: Grades 7–8

  • Category 5: Grades 9–10

  • Category 6: Grades 11–12

Awards and Certificates

Each category’s outstanding of the Math (Reward) AMC 2025 finals will earn the following rewards: 

First-placed: MacBook Air

 Second-placed: iPad Pro 

Third-placed: IPAD Mini 

Fourth-placed: Apple Watch

 Fifth-placed: AIRPODS

       6th to 10th-placed: AIRPODS And certificates with medals, including Gold medal, Silver medal, Bronze medal, and honorable mention certificate.

The format of the
Competition

The competition consists of three rounds. After the first online round only, 50% of the students will pass to the second online round. After the second online round, 50% of the students will pass to the final round. The final round will be on-site. Each question has a point value. There are 30 multiple-choice questions: 10 worth 3 points each, 10 worth 4 points each, and 10 worth 5 points each. The sum of the earned points is a student’s score or result. The exam lasts 75 minutes. The competition test is a combination of logic and math. The more points a question is worth, the harder it is. The maximum score is 120 points

Participation Recognition

All participants in the competition receive an Angkor Mathematics Competition certificate. The participants who get 1–25 places will receive Certificates of Achievement and will be rewarded with valuable prizes. Please see the paragraph below:

Competition is not only for challenges. Academic competitions enrich students’ cognitive function by developing executive functioning and critical thinking skills that are fundamental not only to academics but also to all professional and personal interactions. The Angkor Mathematics Competition aims to encourage students to recognise the value of competition, study and excel in maths, and develop essential lifelong skills.
